Weekly Post 21

Recap

Monday I got a new driving license (remember Germans, yours expires nowadays). After spending a lovely hour there, we went to IKEA where I got a new curtain rail, and we made some Peta again. The Twitch stream of my friend was nice. And my girlfriend had an allergic reaction to Penicillin so we dealt with that this week. Tuesday I did an eastern themed crafting day for kids in my youth work, which was a lot of fun though I did have to deal with some really hyperactive young ones. Next week should be better, other people will deal with them :D. Wednesday I did a bit more cleaning up with my girlfriend before going back to Hamburg, doing some cooking and playing more computer games. Thursday I had to get some nice dice from Dice Dungeons kickstarter out of the Zoll, which for the second time this week meant a lot of waiting around.

Two 20-sided dice on a dark tabletop—one translucent amber with glitter and white numbers, and one translucent blue with white numbers.

After that I went back to my home town for a youth committee meeting. We had a very long session because of a quite polarizing discussion regarding the usage of generative AI. Friday I had a board game evening there, which was a lot of fun, my flatmate also found time and we got back to Hamburg together. Saturday I finished up some stuff like the extra blog post and went back to my home town for another stream of my friend and a birthday party. Sunday was a really nice relaxed day, we made burritos, went back to Hamburg, played a bit computer and went to a restaurant.

Culinary highlight

We have a dish we do a lot these past weeks, peanut butter noodles with tofu. This week my girlfriend saw Dubu Jorim (Korean Braised Tofu) on pinterest. So we tried this as a new tofu take.

Close-up of food simmering in a dark, glossy sauce, with browned rectangular tofu pieces and chopped green onions visible on the surface.

Song of the week

I am still in a very lucky position to have a lot of artist I want to share, so now I would like to shout out Saint Motel. I like quite a few of their songs, one of the best ones is A Good Song Never Dies. They perfectly take away parts of the instruments with every repetition of the chorus. Do give it a listen.

Currently watching/reading/listening

I did get further with The Mentalist, really enjoying their current stand. And we started watching Agatha all along, which is as crazy as WandaVision was. What a ride.

Games

I had so much fun with Anno 1800. Not quite sure when I can play it again because one needs quite some time for it, but I do look forward to it. And I played some Splid Fiction with my girlfriend on Sunday. I use the old Steam controller which doesn’t have a right joystick, which makes aiming in the 2D sections a nice challenge.

And we played Aye, Dark Overlord! The Green Box. This was fun, it is a party improvisation game.

As always, make the best out of your day!
